Mechanics I

For a long time, I got thrilled by the word "Holonomic" and it was demystified only on day before yesterday. When you have constraints in motion of the bodies and the constraints can be put in terms of equality condition its holonomic.
Otherwise its non-holonomic. So a bead sliding on a string is an example of holonomic dynamics. Because its location has to be on the string all the time. Thats a equality condition. Gas molecules inside a box is an example of non-holonomic dynamics. Because the molecules' position can't be greater than the box's length or width.
You can derive lagrangian dynamics equations in holonomic system considering virtual work done by the constarins is zero.
